Solo Episode #9: Decision Fatigue with Brent Tieri.
I did an interview earlier this week with an amazing human being, Nichole Sylvester. The episode will drop in the next month or so and I’m super excited for you guys to check it out. She is someone that has gone through an unbelievable personal transformation and now helps others do the same. I won’t go into a ton of detail, because I don’t want to take away from the message that she’ll be sharing, but what I do want to touch on and expand on is this concept of willpower and decision fatigue. And how your environment plays a huge role in your ability to make the right choices and ultimately succeed.
So, what do I mean by that. What I mean by the term decision
fatigue and willpower fatigue is that each of these has a
diminishing factor. Our decision making ability, our willpower to
decide to do the right thing when we’re given a choice between
things that serve us or align with us and the choice that goes
against the life that we say we want to live, as this is
continuously tested...it starts to diminish. Meaning, that
willpower at some point, does not work. Discipline, at some point,
is not enough. So, if this is true, how can we set ourselves up to
make the right choices? Let’s outline a couple of action items, or
practices that you can implement in your life now to enhance your
ability to make better decisions.
